🏛️ Tour Description

1

Stage 1 – Departure from Messina

The tour begins in Messina, the ancient 'gateway to Sicily', a city steeped in history, legends and traditions. Following the scenic road that runs alongside the natural, sickle-shaped harbour, we head inland towards the Ionian coast to explore Castelmola and Taormina.

2

Stage 2 – Castelmola

The first stop is the charming medieval village of Castelmola, perched on a hill and famous for its panoramic views overlooking the coast and Mount Etna. Once home to an ancient Norman castle, today the village is home to one of the most unique bars in the world: Bar Turrisi. Here we'll stop to discover the cultural significance of the iconic symbolic decorations, a tribute to ancient Greek culture, accompanied by a tasting of traditional almond wine and Sicilian cannoli.

3

Stage 3 – Taormina

The tour continues with the descent to elegant Taormina, passing through the historic arch of Porta Catania. The visit includes the chance to explore the famous Ancient Theatre of Taormina (ticket not included), an extraordinary example of ancient engineering with panoramic views of Mount Etna and the sea. The tour continues with a stroll through the gardens of Taormina's Villa Comunale and along Corso Umberto, amongst elegant boutiques, historic cafés and picturesque alleyways.

4

Stage 4 – Relaxation at Isola Bella

We will then head to the stunning Isola Bella, considered one of the most iconic spots in eastern Sicily. Here you will have around two hours of free time to relax on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy the magnificent natural landscape that makes this bay unique in the world.

5

Stage 5 – Return to Messina

After visiting Taormina, we return to Messina. Weather permitting, you'll have the chance to visit the historic centre and Messina Cathedral, which houses one of the largest and most complex mechanical and astronomical clocks in Europe. At the end of the day, we return to the starting point.
