Afterward, we’ll take a short drive up to the nearby village of Castelmola, a quaint medieval town perched high above Taormina. Known for its breathtaking views, Castelmola offers a unique perspective of Mount Etna and the surrounding Sicilian countryside. As you stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets, you’ll discover charming local shops, cafes, and historical landmarks such as the Cathedral of San Giorgio and the remnants of the Castello di Mola.
One of the highlights of Castelmola is its famous Bar Turrisi, a quirky and historic bar known for its artistic decor and traditional almond wine. You’ll have time to enjoy a glass of wine, admire the sweeping views, and soak in the laid-back atmosphere of this picturesque village before heading back to Messina.
